MaryMary Mark, UW-AAB, KPA-CTP, CPDT-KA owner/professional dog trainer/professional groomer
Mary is the owner of BowWow Fun Towne. After retiring from United States Navy with 20 years, she decided to follow her passion and love for animals. Since she has been in the Pacific Northwest since 1996, this was her home. Mary started her own pet sitting business called Walkin’ The Dogs & Pet Services in May 2006. She wanted to continue her passion so she took over ownership of BowWow Fun Towne in February 2008. She wanted a facility that provided all of your pet’s needs under one roof. In order to fulfill this desire, she went to grooming school and received her certificate as a professional pet groomer. Mary’s family consists of a daughter, husband and a dog.

I worked at Petco for 3 years prior to working at BowWow Fun Towne. I wanted to work actively with dogs so I thought BowWow Fun Towne would be a good fit. My favorite part is coming to work! I love to interact with the dogs, getting to know each of their unique personalities and meeting their owners. When I am not at work, I like to spend time in nature and seeing lots of concert! My roommate’s dogs, Angel and Jack, have taught me unconditional love and that life is too short to not live in the movement. My goal is to have my own dogs that I can take on her nature adventures.

Having pets during my childhood has sparked my interest working with animals. Working at BowWow Fun Towne is my first job working with dogs. I am very grateful that I was given the opportunity to get started on my path to my goal. My favorite part is hearing the stories from the customers about their dogs. I am very passionate about music. When I’m not at work, I love playing board games with my family and researching different dog breeds and journal about what I’ve learned. Dogs have taught me so many things! That we are never alone because even our pups do whatever they can to help us during tough times and also to live in the moment and enjoy life. I really appreciate the opportunity getting to know your dogs! They never fail to amaze me and make me smile! My goal is to own rescue shelter or sanctuary so I can help animals in needs and give them a happier and brighter future.

I got Oso as a puppy and for the last 4 years, he’s been my side. I name my chocolate lab Oso due to an acquaintance we lost during the Oso mudslide. I have work over 7 years in the canine field – dog day care/boarding facilities, training and veterinary field. My favorite part working at BowWow is spending time with all the dogs. When I am not at work, I attend dog shows, spending time with OSO and his buddies, (Larry & Marvyn). Dogs have taught me to socialize, confidence, friendship and faith in my dog. My goal is to own my own doggie day care.

I have grown up with various animals. I’ve raised horse, rode them in shows and trails. I currently have a chocolate Lab name Diesel. My experience with dogs is owning many breads, all who have and had a special place in my heart. I have dog sat for many of my housecleaning clients for over 20 years. I trained Diesel to be a hunter and he is very successful bird dog. My favorite part about working at BowWow Fun Towne is the special time with the overnight fur babies and the love that we share. I’m an outdoor girl so when I’m not at work, I go fishing, hunting, camping and I also love to crochet and do craft projects. Dogs have given me unconditional love, live in the present, enjoy each moment as it comes and let go of the bad and remember the joy. My goal to have a cabin in the woods to spend all my love and time with my partner, 2 sons, daughter-in-law and my 4 grandchildren.

I was blessed to share my childhood with a few dogs, a few cats, a couple lovebirds, a dozen chickens, and an adorable king snake. My experience working with dogs was when I was a child. I trained my own dogs and helped train my friends’ dogs. I wanted to be a zoologist well into my early teens and was always findings reasons to spend time with animals of any kind. Thankfully I grew up in San Diego, not far from some incredible ranches. My favorite part about working at BowWow Fun Towne is the dogs, of course. Watching them gain confidence, play, and learn new things every day is incredibly heartwarming. I love hiking, foraging, and cooking with fresh ingredients. I’m also a bit of a musician. I enjoy learning new instruments, writing music, and singing. I’m a geek for languages, math, and fantasy. Goldie, Mini and Harry have taught me many things. Goldie saved me from child protective services and she taught me how kind and loving animals can be. Mini died as a puppy but was revived and lived on to be an incredible escape artist. She showed me the magic in life. Despite being the most placid dog to have ever existed, Harry was a real challenge in his own way. I found mindfulness seeing the world through his eyes. I studied linguistics & computer science at UCLA and I’ve been a software engineer, web designer, and game developer. Now I’m using those skills to invent tools for people I care about. I hope to make a real difference in their lives and the lives of people like them.
